LED Canopy Lights for Gas Stations
Fuel canopies run their lights every night of the year, so old metal halide fixtures are one of the biggest line items on a gas station's electric bill. Switching the canopy, pump islands, building perimeter and lot to LED typically cuts lighting energy use by more than half and ends the cycle of lamp and ballast replacements.
What a gas station LED upgrade includes
- LED canopy lights — 75W to 240W, IP65, recessed or surface mount, built for fuel canopies and drive-thrus.
- LED wall packs — for the store building, dumpster area and rear lot, with photocell, motion and full cutoff options.
- LED parking lot lights — shoebox area lights from 150W to 450W for the lot and entrances.
- Pole brackets and tenon adapters — to reuse existing poles.
Choosing canopy wattage
As a starting point, a 150W–200W LED canopy light replaces a 400W metal halide canopy fixture, and a 240W fixture replaces 1000W metal halide. Mounting height, canopy size and the light level you want under the pumps all affect the final choice — send us your canopy dimensions and current fixture count and we will recommend a layout.
Rebates and certifications
Most of our canopy, wall pack and area lights are DLC listed, which is what many utility rebate programs require. Check your utility's current commercial lighting program for eligibility and amounts; we can provide spec sheets and DLC listings for your application.
